Concrete Mixer Chute Washoff

Here's a couple of cool videos form YouTube about concrete mixer truck chute washoff devices. Take a look - if you're not using one now (or something similar to achieve the same results), you might want to check these out.
Take a look at the second video - this one is produced by a specific concrete company, not the equipment manufacturer. It's being used as a selling point to demonstrate the company's environmental awarenewss. A great example of a company using the environment as a marketing tool.
Are these necessary? Not really, provided concrete mixer drivers are properly trained (where to rinse the chutes, and where NOT to rinse the chutes!), and the contractor provides an appropriate chute wash location. But what if they don't? Then a device like these can come in pretty handy, and demonstrate your good environmental delivery awareness.
There's a couple different kinds of these devices on the market today, and they likely all have their good points. RMA doesn't recommend one type over another - you need to do your homework and see which one might work for you. But the use of these products in general might be something worth looking at.
Another point - do NOT refer to these as "washout devices"! A mixer driver should never be washing out a mixer drum on a jobsite, but rather typically rinses off the chutes after making a delivery. I strongly urge that you change the culture by calling this "chute washoff". That will more accurately describe what is happening.
